How edge computing works?

To understand the working methodology of Edge computing, let's take an example of an internet-connected video camera that is being installed to monitor the office that sends the live footage. If it's just one camera, then it might be easy to process the incoming live footage data but what if the number of data transmitting devices is huge; then data will get deferred in terms of quality due to high-bandwidth utilization that will cause latency. In this scenario, edge computing helps as an edge device acts as a local source that stores and processes the data through edge-gateway, which is interconnected to many devices through the cloud.
