What are drones?

by SMEBOOK (admin) · December 12, 2020

Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are basically flying robots that can be remotely controlled or glide autonomously via software-regulated flight plans operating in synchronicity with in-flight sensors or GPS. Recently, UAVs most of the time were associated with armed forces, where initially they were used for intelligence gathering, anti-aircraft target practice and then as artillery platform. Drones can now be used for a sundry of non-combatant roles ranging from search and rescue, surveillance, firefighting to photography, agriculture and even delivery services.
