A biometric device/system works on three main components:

  • Sensors: These sense and capture your biometric information. For Example, you place your thumb on the biometric sensor of your office door to unlock it.
  • Computer: It stores the biometric information for further processing.
  • Software: The biometric software processes the biometric information, does all the identity recognition and matching and provides authentication.
