History of Serverless computing

The cloud computation execution was popularized by Amazon in the 2014 re: Invent session "Getting Started with AWS Lambda". Other sellers took this route in 2016 with the introduction of Google Cloud Functions and IBM Open Whisk in the market. But, the serveless outlook to cloud computing is not entirely new. It has came to light after numerous advancements and acquisition of virtual machine (VM) followed by adoption of container technologies.
