Robots are highly specialised machines capable of replicating human behaviour. Robots can for sure assist humans in certain jobs like repetitive and labor intensive tasks in production runs or assembly lines still there is a long way to go for robots to inherit human intelligence completely specially in tasks that require intelligent thinking. One harm that robots can do to human civilization is the loss of jobs. With more and more deployment of robots its more likely that unskilled workforce might become jobless soon.
