Edge computing, majorly used in managed IT infrastructure services, basically increases the network performance and reduces latency. Internet users can easily connect to more devices and applications without increasing the load on the network that are connected either through cloud or data-center. It brings the data or information closer to the user using nearby edge device, thus network congestion gets avoided. Network edge devices are placed in data centers, hot spots, and base stations. It is used in video streaming & optimization, virtual & augmented reality, deployment of enterprise networks, where data is generated at a higher rate.
