There are three approaches to create a fully functional chatbot. These are:

  1. Online chatbot solutions: There are many ready-made chatbot solutions available that can be purchased and customized as per needs
  2. Chatbot Development Software: Chatbot builder platforms can be used to create chatbots easily with little or no technical knowledge
  3. Creating a Chatbot from scratch: A chatbot can be programmed as per need using various technology combinations. A chatbot is a server side application that needs to be connected to a backend API using technologies like Ruby on Rails etc.
