Biotechnology in Europe: How the Biotech Industry in Europe is Booming

European biotechs are starting to garner a larger pool of investors, including China’s maturing community (now 3 to 5% of total investment in the European biotech industry). With finances increases, the total investment in Europe’s biotech firms have further tripled over the past decade and have more than doubled the past few years going from $5.1 billion (2005-2011) to $11.9 billion (2012-2018). From these figures, 60 percent went to Switzerland, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. Gleaning from this it can be seen that the industry is indeed booming.
