Can Biometrics be misused?

Although Biometric technology is considered relatively safe as biometric data is unique to every individual, however there are still fair chances of the stored data being compromised and misused. In many cases, the biometric records are not encrypted, and thus the stored information is vulnerable to hackers and cyber thieves that can steal the data, clone it to access user’s confidential information and use it for their malicious intentions.
