How does augmented reality use data?

Augmented reality technology uses computer vision, localisation (using GPS data), mapping and depth tracking (sensor data calculating the distance to the objects). Cameras and other input devices like smart glasses collect data from the above, process the information and transmit it to the user as relevant digital content. This digital content is then displayed in a realistic way, so that it looks part of the real world, called as rendering.
